This has been great. I'm finding interesting music I'd not known about, always a good thing. A very good thing.
And it's been kind of funny at times. I tracked down the Kevin Welch/Deborah Pierce version of Why Baby Why -- this recording is available on eMusic.com -- but the artists are listed as Deborah Pierce and that other Welch, Gillian. Hope Kevin is getting his cut of the royalties.
Loved the John Prine version of In a Town This Size, with Dolores Keane -- couldn't place her accent, which of course is Irish.
Seized the opportunity to re-own some old Ian and Sylvia, so I could get Four Strong Winds.
And appreciated the tip on Ane Brun and Ron Sexsmith. I have other music by her, and Ron is great (and Canadian). Didn't know Song No. 6 before, it is on a CD and downloadable.
Another one I've liked forever when I hear it on the radio, but have never owned until now is the Dr. John duet with Ricky Lee Jones on Makin' Whoopee. Love em both, and have the album now (most of it is just Mr. Rebennack, with this being the lead cut -- it won a grammy if I'm not mistaken).
A ways to go yet, but this is great fun.
Ron
