Lucky old moi....I am leaving tomorrow for a 2 week hiking trip in the wilds of northern Australia ...woo hoo! Can't wait! Tomorrow will be a
2 hour train trip to Brisbane then a 3 hour flight north to Darwin. Doing 2 hike loops ....the Jatbula Trail in Nitmiluk National Park (indigenous name for
Katherine Gorge) and Litchfield National Park......with backpacks, tents, camp stoves and all, the whole wild adventure thing. Which is exactly how I like my
holidays to be! We'll be following streams, camping at glorious waterfalls, scrambling over ancient rock formations, checking out Aboriginal rock art and
spending most of the time well away from the rest of humanity. Going with some good longtime buddies from my old home down south so that's just the icing
on the gorge-ous cake. Been checking the temperature out on the weather map and daytime temps are still hovering around 30-33 degress celsius with around 23/24
at night so it will be hot, hot, hot (even though its winter everywhere else here in Oz)! Hopefully there won't be too-many too-close encounters with
crocodiles, buffalo or venomous snakes....aaaahhh! the joys of adventuring in the bush. At least we don't have bears!!!!!!!!!! Well only cute, cuddly,
koala ones....which are not really bears, strictly speaking, anyways. Will let you all know how it goes. Peace and smiles. Sue
