I've posted about Lisa Hannigan before and just saw her again last week - absolutely the most riveting voice I've heard in years. She has tremendous range and tone, both in voice and lyric and just floors me. She's wrapping up the US tour with David Gray, but is headed back to Ireland & the UK to wrap up the year. If you get the chance, absolutely get out to she her and the band - they are also every bit as nice as they are talented, so stick around and say hi after the show. Here are a few samples - be sure to catch the spirited cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" from the Minneapolis show - I was there and it was great! Huge standing O for the opening act:

Just found out about this guy - Pokey LaFarge - and if you are a fan of Justin Townes Earle, give a listen. Pretty cool sound!

Another great session from Daytrotter - The Tallest Man On Earth, a wonderful singer out of Sweden. If you are a fan of Steve Forbert and his Jimmie Rodgers work, you might find this guy similar in sound and style - nice cover of Dylan's "I Want You":

I noticed a few of the gang from Oz posting about the upcoming festival with Crowded House as a headliner (among some other more baffling selections) so if there are any fans of the Finn clan, check out the latest 7 Worlds Collide collaboration. Neil Finn brought the much of the same gang back together - Johnny Marr, Lisa Germano, Ed O'Brien, etc. but also invited Jeff Tweedy and Wilco, KT Tunstall, Bic Runga and host of others, including sons Liam and Elroy. A truly amazing collection of musicians:
